Q: She 12 years old and does not have a sore throat but always complains of these loose white cottage cheese spots in her throat. Sometime they appear yellowish color and have a odor to it.Its like they get wedged in the back of the throat in the tonsil area and eventually a spot comes loose. Only serious answers please

A: it is not food deposits- not exactly. these are tonsilloliths- or tonsil stones.... if this is frequent and you have insurance - go see a doctor, she may also be getting asymptomatic tonsilitis. does she have sinus problems as well? she can try gargling with warm salt water 2-3 times a day. every day. the thing is- if she has them already and her tonsils are larger than normal- so are the cavities in the tonsils (normal) that these form in. I am 35 and wish every day that i had my tonsils out as a kid. they started forming for me when I was about 10. everyone gets them to a certain extent- most swallow them without ever even realizing they were there. but some have large tonsils and form larger stones. they can be really smelly- they are full of bacteria and sulfer by-products. lots of info on web- just look up tonsilloliths. all kinds of home remedies, some may work, all are different for different people. at this point the only thing that works for me, is i have a water pik that i use on the lowest setting and spray into the tonsil cavities and flush them out twice a week. http://www.abchomeopathy.com/forum2.php/2533/6
