Q: I started going gray at 16. Now I'm 23 and I notice a lot more white hairs. What is the cause of that? Also my grandma always had white hair, from when she was born, my cousin always had a patch of white hair since his childhood, and my uncle also had a white patch in his hair. I never had patches of white hair, it just started popping up when I was 16. Is this genetics? Is this going to continue and I will have completely white hair by 30? Please help, thanks! I don't smoke.

A: Genetics, stress, smoking (if you smoke)... they all play a role. You can always use hair color... just pick one closest to your natural color. If you are comfortable with that.
