Q: i have tonsillitis. my right tonsil is all white. and is swollen. its not very painful. just painful enough to bug me. i was wondering if there were any fast and cheap remedies? any advice. i dont wana waste 40 bucks on a doctor appointment if its this minor. EDIT I actually poped my tonsil believe it or not. there was a calcium buildup and then 2 balls of mucus and puss afterward. it smelt bad and now my tonsil is a lil sore but nothing like it was before. thanks though guys!
A: Not really, tonsillitis is a pretty nasty infection and needs to be treated with antibiotics, or surgery if you have recurrent infections. If you already have white spots on your tonsil it is unlikely to heal on its own and may in fact get worse or develop into an abcess which can be life threatening.
