Am I getting too much sleep?

Q: I know it sounds weird, but I get to bed at 7pm and wake up at 5am. I've noticed that I feel tired even though I've gotten all that sleep. Am I getting too much?

A: Most people only need 7 or 8 hours but some people actually need 9 or 10 hours. More than 10 hours is generally regarded as too much. It is certainly possible that for you 10 hours is too much and perhaps that is why you feel tired. Perhaps you could try making it from 8 pm to 5 am and see if that helps. Much to your surprise you might perhaps feel less tired. Perhaps you could even try 9 pm to 5 am.
