Should I go to the Emergency Room?

Q: I've been on my period since May on and off and when I sat on and off it's not my normal cycle time. It just started getting heavy yesterday to a point were I have to change my pad every hour. I'm very concerned. I went to the doctor about two weeks ago and I'm still waiting for my results. I called my doctor but no answer so I'm waiting for him to call me back. What could this be, why am I bleeding so much? No...I'm not on birth control at the moment. It's now been a year. Miscarriage?? I'm not pregnant. What is up with you people??? If you this question has nothing to do with you and you can't respond without being rude and ignorant then why answer? Keep it moving...idiots!!! Also, I don't feel any pain.

A: I would go to a hormone specialist and have your hormone levels tested. It could be that your body is producing an incorrect amount of progesterone, which is making you bleed the way you are. I wouldn't be too concerned, unless you have pain. Even if you have big clots, it could be because your uterus is slightly tilted, which causes the blood to pool and clot. Listen to your gut. If you're genuinely worried, go to the ER. Hope this helps.
