Q: I've often had problems with my eyes clouding over when I stand up, but since yesterday literally almost everytime I stand up I get a shooting pain on the left side of my head. It's never happened before until yesterday but it's really annoying. It lasts about 5 seconds straight after I stand up... I'm not a headache person. I literally just don't get headaches... and I doubt it's my blood pressure because it's been checked loads before and it's always been fine... I'm 17 if it matters... Also, I'm on the birth control pill- it couldn't been anything to do with that? I've been on it for about 6 weeks and the head thing started yesterday...
A: You may be dehydrated. It might be birth control. Call your doc & ask May be migraine,...try taking Calcium 500mg 3X/day.& Magnesium 400mg supplements. Often people your age are deficient in these minerals.
