A: Based on my own experiences, I find that the best way to get better is to do some simple things. One, get plenty of rest. It's not a cure, but your body needs time to recuperate. Two, drink plenty of fluids and try to increase your vitamin c intake. I find that the more oranges I eat or the more orange juice I drink, the better I feel. Maybe it's a placebo effect, but it works. Some people like zinc tablets/lozenges, and these are fine. They're not disgusting so it's worth a shot. And ironically, there's medicinal value to having chicken soup, so if you like it, eat up. And it wouldn't hurt to have some tea (black or green, and it depends on whether you're congested if you want to use milk). Add a little honey and lemon to plain tea (without milk) because honey has antibacterial properties. Feel better.
