Q: I really don't feel good at all. And i tried to shake it off and take a shower and eat, but when i did that i was heading out the store i started to feel like i was going to puke, ohhh and not to be gross... but i did. so i was like "yea, i cant work like this". so i called in. im worried though, i dont like to call in and this is my 3rd call in, in one year. do you think thats bad? 3 call-ins in one year. i know my boss and all my employees are hating me right now, we are probley so short handed... p.s. i work in costco bakery, we get pretty busy. and today is friday. >.< i feel horrible
A: If you work in a bakery you owe it to the customers not to go to work if you're ill. I mean, think about it. You could pass whatever bug you have onto the customers or contaminate the baked good you prepare. If all you've missed this year is 3 days you have nothing to worry about. The company I work for allows for 8 "personal" days a year which are paid days off that can be used in the event of illness or personal emergency. You might have tried calling in a little earlier but I know you were trying to tough it out, so don't sweat it.
