A: I would imagine that it would be incredibly large. I have seen estimates anywhere from 50 to 80% of the sexually active population has been infected with HPV, However, 50% of HPV cases are cleared by the immune system in 6 months and 91% are cleared within two years. Because of this, most women clear the virus from their bodies before they ever realize they even have HPV. As long as a woman gets an annual pap test, she doesn't need to worry about HPV. Again, in 91% of cases, the virus is cured in two years or less anyways. Even if a woman gets an abornmal pap, most women will clear the virus before they ever get cervical cancer.
